MacBook Pro, iPad or iPhone

by mitz on October 12, 2011

In today’s technology market, there are so many options that finding the right product can sometimes be a real challenge. Take, for example, Apple’s three most popular gadgets: the MacBook Pro, the iPad, and the iPhone. All of these devices have advantages and disadvantages, and figuring out which one is best for you is no easy task. This article will weigh the costs and benefits of each product and hopefully help you make an informed decision.

Macbook Pro

First up, we have the Macbook Pro, perhaps the single most popular laptop in the market. Go to any college campus in America and odds are you’ll see a few of them floating around. Not only is this laptop powerful, it’s also beautifully designed and extremely user-friendly. The price, however, may be prohibitive to some buyers. Starting at $1,799 for the mid-sized 15-inch screen, the MacBook Pro is one of the most expensive mainstream laptops on the market. Price aside though, the MacBook Pro is a terrific laptop for just about any consumer.

Apple iPad

Ever since the Ipad’s release over two years ago, Apple has been aggressively pushing the device on its customers. The concept behind the iPad was to have a 100% touch-screen device that allows you to do everything, or at least almost everything, that you could do on a laptop. You can read and write emails, surf the web, play games, use iPad for business, download and read eBooks, and more.MacBook Pro, iPad or iPhone

While the concept is great, the iPad does have some noteworthy drawbacks. Typing on a iPad, while not prohibitively difficult, is nowhere near as easy as typing on a laptop. The device’s processing power and memory capabilities are also far behind those of a MacBook Pro, or other comparable laptop. While the iPad is certainly a cool gadget, plenty of people feel that it isn’t worth the starting price of $499, especially when our next product is taken into consideration.

iPhone

The iPhone is recognized by many as one of the best Smartphones currently on the market. The advantages and uses of an iPhone are almost too numerous to count. You can surf the web, read and write emails, download fun and free iPhone apps, make and receive calls, and much more. For all of this, the iPhone 4’s starting price of $199 seems abundantly reasonable. While the iPhone is a great product, you do run into the expected memory and processing power problems, as with the iPad.

Conclusion

At the end of the day, all of Apple’s personal technology products have their own distinct advantages and disadvantages. Only you can determine which device is best suited to your needs. If you’re trying to make a decision, one of the best things to do is to go to an Apple store. The employees are not paid on commission and genuinely want to help you. Good luck with your search!

If you are trying to save up to get an MacBook, iPad or iPhone, you should consider lowering the cost of your car insurance. I am currently using a Macbook pro and an iPhone. I even used iPhone to connect to my cpanel. I would prefer buying an iPad when I traveling overseas on holiday and don’t want to carry a laptop.
